Association of Jewish Refugees
Association of Jewish Refugees needed a respectful identity that appeals to the older generation, while also attracting younger members. The brandmark draws on the Jewish tradition of lighting a candle to remember loved ones. It acts as a reminder to keep passing the story down through generations. I combined this with a simple humanist typeface that is modern yet respectful.
Typography
Throughout the brand identity I employed tints of colour and italics in typographic designs to bring out the meaning of the words.
Journal
The identity was carried through to the AJR Journal.
Website
The website design combines historic photographs with images of survivors to give an air of hope.
